Asiakwa SOS Social Centre

The SOS Social Centre, Asiakwa works especially in the community called Agormanya which is an area with a high incidence of HIV/AIDS related illnesses. The community has a large number of children orphaned as a result of the HIV/AIDS disease. Many of the children are living in grandparent-led families. Some children are living with their mothers who are affected by HIV/AIDS. The SOS Social Centre visits the community regularly to meet the children, their carers and their teachers. The schools were very helpful in getting the community programme started. The SOS Social Centre gives the children and their carers financial support to help with their education and their basic needs.
